Free Image Sources and Artist Credits for SnappedDragons.net

Why Crediting Artists and Photographers Matters
In an era where AI can generate stunning images with a few clicks, it’s easy to forget the real artists whose work inspires and supports these creations. At Snappeddragons, we believe in acknowledging the creators behind the content, whether it’s a free image from Unsplash or a hand-drawn sketch that has been passed through an AI filter. Giving credit isn’t just good manners — it’s part of creating responsibly in the digital world.
We’ve included links below to learn more about the ethics of using AI in art, as well as a list of artists and sources whose free images helped bring this site to life. The pink dragon logo is a piece of AI-generated art I found and fiddled with on Canva. Most of the dragons, including the one from which I created the pink logo for the site, were found on Freepik and are AI-created, except for the grumpy dragon on the contact page. He, of course, is from the Lord of the Rings movies, although I found his image on Unsplash, I believe.
Note from the Site Builder
When I first got online to learn a year ago, I had about enough knowledge to shop and file my taxes with tax software- that was about it. I didn’t know anything and didn’t like to ask because I always thought that everyone around me seemed to know more about the online world and computers than I did, and I felt like I was ignorant. I got over that pretty soon and discovered that I could learn how to do anything as long as I had time, focus, and the desire. Then I needed to write down what I learned, because short-term memory loss is a bitch. When I learned how to build websites, I’d go to free image sites and download whatever I wanted without paying attention to who created them or whether or not it was AI. Didn’t even think about it. Over time, as I learned, I realized it does matter very much. That AI was trained on the creations of artists, photographers, and writers who, for the most part, received NOTHING for the privilege of teaching something that is going to devalue what they do and make it harder for them to make a living, for those fortunate enough to make a living doing what they love.

Photographers and artists who provided the images that created snappeddragons.net
The background for snappeddraggons.net was a happy accident when I attempted to use this picture from Unsplash.com by a photographer in Hungary named Benjamin Soros as part of a section of background. I’m not sure what I did, but I somehow got distributed thought the site and I looked really good so I kept it. I found it on Unsplash, where I’ve found so many artists/photographers who have added to my websites and business.
Below is a link to his work and website. I wanted to give him credit for the background of this site and a beautiful photo.
